Quality Engineer

Position Summary

The Quality Engineer supports product development teams and manufacturing plants by ensuring products are designed and produced in accordance with customer and internal quality standards. This role plays a key part in quality planning, risk analysis, supplier quality activities, and launch readiness while maintaining efficient production flow.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in new and modified product design, representing customer requirements and quality expectations
  • Define quality targets based on similar products, historical claims, and lessons learned
  • Identify project risks through Project Risk Analysis (PRA)
  • Lead early control plan development and ensure Design FMEA outputs are incorporated into Process FMEA
  • Implement and maintain Product Quality Plans aligned with customer-specific and internal requirements
  • Ensure product conformity through prototype, pre-production, and initial sample acceptance
  • Authority to stop production or shipment in cases of non-conformance
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions using 8D methodology
  • Issue Supplier Quality Assurance Requests (SQARs) as required
  • Coordinate initial sample reviews and manage customer quality documentation approvals
  • Support warranty analysis and coordinate with OEM customers

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • 5-10 years of Quality Engineering experience
  • Proficiency in Excel, Minitab, and PowerPoint

Required Knowledge & Skills

  • Supplier qualification and PPAP processes
  • Measurement System Analysis (MSA)
  • 8D corrective action methodology
  • Statistical analysis, Six Sigma, and Lean principles
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Experience with ISO / QS / TS quality systems
  • Ability to facilitate Kaizen events
  • Process engineering experience

Work Environment & Collaboration

  • Collaborates with internal teams, suppliers, customers, and manufacturing plants across North America

Information Security & Compliance

  • Responsible for protecting sensitive data in accordance with information security policies and procedures
  • Must comply with security training, access controls, and reporting requirements
